Massage therapy is a drug-free, healthy and cost effective way to take care of your body. An effective approach to pain management and rehabilitation, massage acts directly upon the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems to treat physical injuries and improve overall health. Registered Massage Therapists in British Columbia have the highest educational standards in North America. To become an RMT in BC, students must complete a minimum of 3000 hours training.

My name is Shakira, and I am a Registered Massage Therapy student with over three years of hands-on experience. I have always felt a deep passion for helping others, and becoming an RMT has been a lifelong goal of mine.

I find great fulfillment in seeing the positive impact massage therapy can have—whether it’s improving mobility, reducing pain, or helping someone achieve more restful sleep. In today’s fast-paced world, I often see people struggling with shoulder, neck, and lower back concerns that may even extend down into the feet.

To address these issues, I draw on a range of techniques including Swedish/relaxation massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, assisted stretching, and joint mobilizations. I believe that every client’s needs are unique, and I take the time to listen carefully in order to create a treatment plan tailored specifically to them. My goal is not only to support physical recovery, but also to encourage emotional and mental well-being through every session.
